Hello, I am Becki Rentz, a real estate agent for Mille Lacs Realty. If you are looking for a family vacation destination close enough to the Twin Cities, so you don’t have to empty your wallet for gas and drive for hours after work, Mille Lacs Lake might be for you. The Mille Lacs Area has almost everything. We are fortunate to have two State Parks that are very accommodating; they have something for everyone that enjoys the outdoors. The fishing speaks for itself. The Real Estate market is very versatile with no two properties being the same There is no cookie cutter housing. Every property has it’s own personal style unlike the neighbors. Interest rates are low, some say as low as they are going to get, and values are much lower than in the previous boom years, making it a great time to buy.

Lets take a closer look at the bright side.  Today’s values are not as bad as you might think if you put them in perspective. Let's travel back to the year 2000. For example, let’s use a home that was worth 200K in the year 2000.  In 2007 it had a value between 300 and 350K, in 2010 its value is about 240K. Over a ten year period of time you made 20% return and you enjoyed the property and had use of it over the ten years. This is the perspective I ask my sellers to understand and I have been quite successful in marketing and selling their homes.
