State Fire Marshals were poking around the scene at mid day on Monday as Carlsona Beach Supper Club lay in ruins. Sandy Walters, a bartender who has been there for the last eight years, said the fire started between 12:30 and 1:30 Sunday night.
It was a three-alarm blaze, drawing the Isle, Garrison and Aitkin fire departments to the scene. Firefighters were still fighting the blaze after 4 am, Walters said. The sign on the bar was about all that remained, stating that the business had been in place since 1944.
