Fiddlestix Ladies League- 2008 Rally For The Cure Event
The Fiddlestix Ladies League hosted the 6th Annual Rally For The Cure golf
tournament on July 16th, 2008 raising $1400 for the Rally For The Cure and Susan G
Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. We had thirty seven participants (21 women and 16
men) in a 9 Hole scramble, followed by a buffet lunch for forty two guests after the
tournament. The event was originally planned to be an 18 hole tournament, but due
to rain, we had to modify our plans and change to a 9 hole event. The Fiddlestix
Ladies League hosted this co-ed fundraising event in partnership with Golf For Women
Magazine and the Susan G. Komen foundation.
Event Winners:
Kathy Chlebecek won the closest to the pin contest on hole number 8. In addition, Sherrie Evenson, Angie Johnson, Terry Carlson and Barb Smith hit the green on hole number 8, winning a Rally For The Cure golf ball and chances to win a golf bag and titleist balls in a national Rally For The Cure drawing. Linda Dow won the Closest to the Pin contest on the 5th hole and the Longest Putt contest on hole number 9. Longest drive winners were Jim Bannick and Tami Huffman. Ed Hermel, Alice Nickolay and Kathy Chlebecek won the raffle prizes.
Many local businesses generously donated cash, goods and services to support this event. The Fiddlestix staff did a great job with the luncheon and the site. Event participants and Fiddlestix Ladies League members donated cash and raffle items to make this fundraising event a huge sucess.
