Mille Lacs shallow waters are a perfect habitat for walleye. The lake is 18 miles long and almost 15 miles wide making it a perfect place to create memories and catch dinner or a trophy. Mille Lacs is filled with Walleye, Perch, Sunfish, Crappies, Northern, Bass and Muskies! Steve Bushinski caught this 51 or so inch Musky in Wahkon Bay, Sunday June 12, 2011! Steve was out fishing on his own and forgot his net, luckily the fisherman nearby watched him struggle and came over to assist in finally landing the big fish.

	Walleye Walleyes bite best under overcast conditions, you'll find them on the flats and the shallow reefs when it's windy. Walleye's like many colors of jigs, but some locals suggest green/chartreuse are usually best.
	Small Mouth Bass The Small Mouth Bass has become hot in the fishing world, try rock reefs and pencil reeds.
	Muskie Muskies bite best in fall up to the lake freeze. You'll find them on shallow rock reefs and in the cabbage weeds.
	Northern Pike Northern bite pretty much all the time on Mille Lacs, you'll find them in the cabbage weeds.
	Sunfish Sunfish, true to their name are best caught when it's sunny. They bite mostly in the spring and fall. You'll find them in the shallow weeds.
	Crappie Crappies are found in the spring and fall in the shallow weeds, much like sunfish.
	Perch Perch bite pretty much anytime, but there's a hot streak in the bays come fall. They bite under overcast, windy, sunny and calm conditions. They don't seem to have much preference for weather, color or lake characteristics.
